About Kim Loop-Forming Pliers with Cutter
Kim loop-forming pliers with cutter are orthodontic pliers that form loops in archwire and trim wire with the same instrument. The pattern is associated with multi-loop edgewise archwire work. This is one complete plier, 12.5 cm in overall length, with a TC (tungsten carbide) designation.
The Kim head: stepped former and cutter
The head combines three features. One beak is round and stepped, with several distinct forming sections along its length. The opposing beak is flat-sided. Wire is formed between the two, and the step you choose sets the forming surface. A cutting feature sits near the joint, separate from the forming beaks, so the wire can be trimmed without changing instruments.
That combination is what sets the Kim apart. Ribbon-arch pliers have broad flat jaws for bending and adjusting rectangular wire, and dedicated cutters only cut.
