About Russian Tissue Forceps
Russian tissue forceps are thumb forceps with broad, rounded, toothed tips. The round tip spreads the grip over a wider area than a pointed forceps, so it holds tissue firmly while you position it for suturing or retract a flap. We supply them as a set of three forceps, each about 6 inches (15 cm) long.
When to choose the Russian pattern
Choose Russian forceps when you want a secure hold on tissue with a wider contact area. For delicate tissue where a finer tip suits better, a narrower tissue forceps is the usual choice. They are also different from college tweezers, which are used for placing cotton and small items rather than holding tissue.

Ordering
- Order by number of sets.
- Evaluation samples of 1–3 pieces per pattern are available.
- If you are replacing existing forceps, send a close-up of the tip so we can match the tooth pattern.
Cleaning and sterilization
Pay attention to the teeth during cleaning, as debris can collect between them. Follow the supplied processing instructions and your facility's validated protocol.
