About Molt Mouth Gag Set (3 Pieces)
A Molt mouth gag is a ring-handled, ratcheting instrument used to hold the mouth open during professional dental and oral-surgical work. This set contains three complete Molt-pattern gags in different sizes, supplied together under one SKU.
What the set contains

Each is a complete instrument; the set is not a single gag with interchangeable parts, and the SKU covers all three.
Ring handles, ratchet and covered contact ends
Each gag has ring handles joined at a pivot, a toothed ratchet and lever, and two curved contact ends fitted with black covers. The ratchet holds the instrument at the position selected, so the opening is maintained without continuous pressure on the handles. The covers are separate components fitted over the metal contact ends.
That ratcheting mechanism is what distinguishes a Molt gag from a passive bite block or mouth prop, which simply rests between the teeth, and from a cheek retractor, which holds soft tissue rather than keeping the jaws apart.
Reading the sizes
Large, medium and small identify the three instrument sizes in the set. Instrument size is not the same measurement as the opening: the overall length of a gag and the distance between its contact ends are different dimensions, and the ratchet sets the opening within each instrument's range.
