Collect Bone or Fix the Membrane: Two Different Jobs

A bone collector drill gathers the bone chips it cuts instead of letting them wash away. The slotted head traps the chips as it drills, and they can then be used as graft material from the patient's own bone. Membrane fixation is a separate job: in guided bone regeneration a membrane covers a bone graft, and small titanium tacks pin it to the bone so it cannot shift, using a handle that picks up each tack and presses it into place.

The two listings do not share components, so order each on its own line with its own size references.

The Four-Drill Collector Set: Four Drills and One Holder

The set has four bone collector drills, one each marked 3.4, 4.0, 4.2 and 5.2 mm, with slotted, gold-coloured heads. They are supplied in a metal holder with a hinged lid and four labelled positions. The holder is an extra object in the box, not a fifth drill, so count four drills and one holder. The sizes are nominal markings: they do not say whether the figure is an inside or an outside diameter, so if that distinction matters to your work, ask before you order.

Collector drills are one of three ways to gather bone: a hand-held curved bone scraper shaves it from the surface, and a bone mill grinds removed bone into particles.

GBR Bone Tack Kits: Compare the Three Options

Every GBR kit is built around titanium bone tacks in 2.5 and 3.5 mm, a stainless steel placement handle and a circular holder that keeps the tacks organised and ready to pick up. The titanium bone tack set is the tacks and the placement handle. The guided bone tack and pin kit is titanium pins with a guide. The expanded membrane-fixation kit is a larger kit with more fixation instruments. We send an itemised list for the option you choose, and the number of tacks of each size is confirmed in your quotation.

The tacks and the handle are separate components, so give the tack diameter and length, the head dimensions, the placement-handle reference and any guide interface when you order replacements. Replacement tacks can be quoted by naming the kit and the tack size. Membranes and graft material are not included, so list them separately if you need them.

Keep PRF Handling and Graft Delivery Separate

PRF boxes and handling sets are a related but different equipment family. The PRF process kit lists seven hand instruments, a PRF box, a 12-position tube stand, a 60 mm bowl and a cassette; the gold-cassette kit holds the same seven instruments in a gold-finish cassette and has no PRF box. A centrifuge and blood-collection tubes are not included in any PRF option. Delivering collected graft material to the site is another job, handled by the curved bone graft syringe set, which does not include graft material.

Make Replenishment Traceable to the Original Set

When you ask for replacement collector drills, tacks or placement handles, identify the kit or option, the component, its nominal size and, where you have one, a drawing or sample. Add the quantity, destination and any container or documentation requirement.

Keep the itemised list that came with your quotation. It lets a repeat purchase match the set you received rather than rely on an assumed accessory count, and it keeps the reusable instruments, with their processing instructions, apart from the tacks, with their supply instructions.
