About Reusable Dental Scalpel Handles
A reusable scalpel handle holds disposable blades. The handle number tells you which blades it takes, so choose the handle to match the blades your team already uses. We offer the common dental patterns individually and a 12-piece set of round knurled handles.
Which handle takes which blade
- No. 3 and No. 7: the standard fitting for smaller blades such as No. 11, 12, 15 and 15C, the sizes used most in dentistry. The No. 7 is longer and slimmer than the No. 3.
- No. 4: a larger fitting for bigger blades, used less often in the mouth.
- Microsurgical or mini: a fine handle for mini blades used in periodontal and other microsurgery.
- No. 5 round: a round-bodied handle; tell us the blades you use and we confirm the fit.
Handle and blade numbers are different: the handle number identifies the fitting, the blade number identifies the blade shape. Always check a blade on a sample handle before ordering in quantity.
Round handles
Round knurled handles can be rolled between the fingers during an incision, which some clinicians prefer to a flat handle. Our 12-piece set contains round handles; tell us which pattern you need in the set.

- Choose single handles by product code from the options list, or order the 12-piece round-handle set.
- Blades are not included.
- Evaluation samples of 1–3 pieces per pattern are available.

Cleaning and sterilization
