About Endodontic Spreader #25
Our Endodontic Spreader #25 is a single-ended stainless steel hand spreader for lateral condensation of gutta-percha. It has a long knurled handle and a satin finish, with a single pointed working end.
Built as a hand spreader
The long knurled handle sets this instrument apart from short finger-handle spreaders. You hold it as a hand instrument, and the knurling along the handle gives a textured, secure hold. Because it has one working end, each instrument carries a single pattern, so there is no second end to identify on the tray.
Spreader or plugger
Spreaders and pluggers often share an endodontic tray, but they do different jobs. The pointed spreader works laterally, opening space beside the gutta-percha already in the canal. A flat-tipped plugger condenses vertically. A cutting file is a different instrument again. When you sort or reorder condensation instruments, check the working-end profile as well as the designation.
Reading the #25 designation
#25 is the pattern designation for this spreader. It is not a 25 mm working length, and we do not assign it an ISO tip size. To compare it with a spreader already in your kit, set the working-end profiles and handle forms side by side.
