About Dental Implant Surgical Drill Kits

An implant site is prepared by drilling in steps, starting narrow and working up to the diameter the implant needs. This kit gives you eight drills in sequence, each marked for depth, in a holder labelled by diameter so the next drill is always easy to find.

The eight drills

2.0, 2.5, 2.8, 3.2, 3.65, 4.2, 4.8 and 5.2 mm. The drills have a black finish and depth markings along the shaft, and stand in a metal holder with each position labelled. The holder is not counted as one of the eight pieces.

  • Coated surgical drill kit: drills with a coated finish.

We send an itemised list for the kit you choose. If you use a particular implant system, tell us the system and the drill diameters and lengths you need, and we confirm the kit suits it.

Care

Clean the drills straight after use, check the cutting edges and depth markings for wear, and return each to its labelled place. Follow the supplied processing instructions and your facility's validated protocol.

Dental Implant Surgical Drill Kits Questions

Which drills are in the 8PC assortment?

The 8PC assortment has one drill at each nominal diameter: 2.00, 2.5, 2.8, 3.2, 3.65, 4.2, 4.8 and 5.2 mm, which totals eight drills. The values describe the inventory; they are not a prescribed drilling sequence.

Is a drill's nominal diameter an implant compatibility specification?

No. Diameter is the drill's transverse size label, and compatibility also depends on its documented profile, length conventions, mechanical connection and the implant system's requirements. The same diameter number therefore does not by itself identify a suitable implant-system drill.

What is the difference between working length and overall drill length?

Overall length runs from one end of the instrument to the other, while working or cutting length refers to a defined working span, and depth-mark conventions can use additional reference points. Compare the named dimension and its datum instead of treating every length label as equivalent.

Does a black drill finish identify a particular coating?

No. Color describes appearance, while coating chemistry and base material are separate specifications. The 8PC drills have a black finish, so select by an explicitly stated coating or material when those properties are required instead of identifying the treatment from color alone.

How does an implant preparation-drill assortment differ from a prosthetic driver kit?

Preparation drills have a cutting role in forming the implant site, while prosthetic drivers engage screw interfaces for fastening. One maker, for example, lists separate manual and machine screwdriver references and driver kits. Identify them as separate instrument groups when you specify a drill or a driver purchase.
