About Bone Trimmer Kit
Our Bone Trimmer Kit organises 14 rotary cutting tools into four groups in a single cassette: five trephines, five tissue punches, two guide punches and two discs. The storage and sterilization cassette is supplied in addition to the 14 tools. Each group covers a run of sizes, and the five blue titanium-coated trephines stand out at a glance, so the right cutter is quick to find.
The 14 tools
- 5 trephines, blue titanium-coated: 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 mm
- 5 tissue punches: 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5 and 5.5 mm
- 2 guide punches: 4 and 5 mm
- 2 discs: 7 and 10 mm
The cassette holds the set and is not counted among the 14 tools.
Pick the tool form first, then the size
Several sizes repeat across the groups, so choose the tool form first:
- Trephines are hollow cutting tubes that cut around a cylinder of bone. Five diameters from 3 to 7 mm give you a full millimetre series.
- Tissue punches cut a circular section of soft tissue. They run in half-millimetre steps from 3.5 to 5.5 mm, so you can match the punch closely to the diameter you need.
- Guide punches, in 4 and 5 mm, are a separate punch form alongside the tissue punch series.
- Discs, in 7 and 10 mm, are the flat cutting tools of the set.
A 4 mm trephine, a 4 mm tissue punch and a 4 mm guide punch are therefore three different tools, even though they share a number.
Sizes, coating and care
Each figure is the labelled diameter of that tool. If you need the trephines matched to an inner- or outer-diameter convention you already work with, include your reference sizes in your enquiry. The tools are stainless steel, and the titanium coating is applied to the five blue trephines. The kit is reusable and autoclavable; reprocess it according to the instructions supplied with this model.
