About Offset Concave Osteotome Set, 5 Pieces
The Offset Concave Osteotome Set is an assortment of five manual osteotomes for dental implant work, including sinus-elevation instrumentation. All five instruments share the same design, an offset shaft and a concave working end, and each has a different nominal diameter: 2.8, 3.3, 3.8, 4.3 and 4.8 mm, one of each. They are hand instruments; nothing in the set is motor-driven.

Offset shaft and concave working end
The two terms describe different parts of the instrument. "Offset" refers to the shaft: its alignment changes between the handle and the working end. "Concave" refers to the tip: the working end has a recessed surface. Every instrument in this set has both features; only the diameter changes from one to the next.
Within the set, each instrument carries identifiers: colored handle ends, diameter markings and graduation marks along the shaft. Use the diameter to order or refer to an instrument, not the color.
Comparing this set with other osteotome kits
Osteotome kits with similar names can have quite different contents, so compare the instruments rather than the kit name. This set is all offset and all concave, and its largest nominal diameter is 4.8 mm. A kit sold as an angled concave set may include a straight instrument or finish at a different diameter.
Keep the dimensions apart when comparing, too. The nominal overall length of these instruments is 17 cm; that is the full instrument length, not the usable working length. The graduation marks on the shaft are separate from the diameter labels. Some catalogs give a taper range for a single osteotome as two diameters; that describes one instrument, not two.
