About La-Grange Double Curved Scissors Precision Dental Tissue & Gum Trimming Surgical

Our La-Grange scissors combine a double-curved profile with tungsten carbide (TC) cutting components, at an overall length of 14 cm (about 5.5 inches). Each is one reusable tissue and gum scissors with an AISI 420 stainless-steel body, for practices and distributors who stock the La-Grange pattern in a TC version.

Profile and length: two separate checks

La-Grange, also written La Grange or LaGrange, names the pattern, and the double curve is part of that pattern's identity. The curve shapes how the blades approach the tissue and how the tips sit in view, which is why clinicians who use a double-curved pattern tend to specify it by profile. The length sets the reach and how the instrument sits in the hand. Overall length is a separate choice, because the pattern is listed at more than one length across the market; ours is 14 cm. When you match existing stock, compare a side view of your current scissors' working end with ours and check the length too, since two instruments can share a profile and still differ in reach.

If you also stock our Neumann scissors, keep the two apart on your order. Both are double curved, but the Neumann is a 120 mm stainless-steel instrument, while this La-Grange is 14 cm with TC cutting components.

How the TC construction is divided

The tungsten carbide is in the cutting components. The instrument has an AISI 420 stainless-steel body. This places a very hard cutting material exactly where the blades close, and the familiar stainless steel everywhere else.

For distributors who list TC and all-steel scissors separately, this instrument belongs with the TC line. For a practice, the TC designation is the detail to quote if your clinicians specifically ask for carbide-edged La-Grange scissors.

Ordering and reprocessing

Pricing is per single instrument. Include your quantity, plus any packaging or documentation preferences, when you request a quote. If you are replacing scissors already in use, add a close-up of the working end and note any edge or tip requirement, so we can check it before quoting.

The scissors are reusable and autoclavable. Use the validated instructions supplied with them for cleaning and sterilization cycles.

La-Grange Double Curved Scissors Precision Dental Tissue & Gum Trimming Surgical Questions

Which La-Grange configuration is supplied?

One 14 cm double-curved La-Grange scissors with tungsten carbide cutting components and an AISI 420 stainless-steel body.

Why does the double-curved profile matter when selecting these scissors?

The double curve shapes how the blades approach the tissue and how the tips sit in view past the hand. Clinicians who use the La-Grange pattern specify it by that profile, so match a side view of your current scissors' working end against this one when restocking.

Are these the same as your 120 mm Neumann scissors?

No. Our Neumann is a separate pattern at 120 mm overall in AISI 420 stainless steel. This La-Grange is 14 cm overall with tungsten carbide cutting components on a stainless-steel body. Both are double curved, so check pattern, length and construction when ordering.

Is the whole instrument made of tungsten carbide?

No. Tungsten carbide is used for the cutting components. The rest of the instrument, including the handles, is AISI 420 stainless steel.

Is 14 cm the blade length or the overall length?

14 cm is the overall length, about 5.5 inches. The La-Grange pattern is sold in more than one length, so check this against your current instrument.

Are the blades serrated?

Edge and tip details are not listed for this model, so confirm them before ordering. If you need a particular edge, such as serrated, state it in your quote request and add a close-up of the working end you use now so we can check it before quoting.
